Adana – Cappadocia – Konya – Antalya – Pamukkale – Izmir – Bursa – Istanbul

Day 1: Departure from USA

Day 2: Arrive in Adana and transfer to the hotel. Freshen up before meeting your guide for an orientation about following in St. Paul’s footsteps and break bread together at a welcome dinner. Overnight in Adana (D)

Day 3: What better place to truly begin to walk in the Steps of St. Paul than in his birthplace of Tarsus. We will visit St. Paul’s Well and the possible site of his house. Than continue to Antioch where St. Peter spent seven years establishing the earliest Christian Church and where believers were called ‘Christians’ for the first time. We will also visit the Mosaic Museum, home to one of the finest collections in the world. (B, L, D)

Day 4: Drive to Cappadocia, visiting Eskigumusler Monastery and its great frescoes. We will also visit the lost underground city of Derinkuyu. So far twenty levels have been discovered with chapels, schools, stables and tombs beneath the ground. (B, L, D)

Day 5: Start exploring the craggy surface of Cappadocia with a walk in the breathtaking Red and Monk’s Valleys. In the Goreme Open Air Museum, see colorful frescoes painted by early Christians. We will visit the Avcilar Valley and the Natural Castle of Uchisar. (B, L, D)

Day 6: In the morning we will drive on the ancient “Silk Road” and visit the 13th century Sultanhan caravanserai (Caravan Inn) built by the Seljuk Turks. In Konya we will visit the Museum and Mausoleum of Mevlana (Rumi), the founder of the mystic cult of Whirling Dervishes. In the afternoon we will explore Lystra, during the time of St. Paul the cosmopolitan capital of a Roman Province. (B, L, D)

Day 7: Driving via Antioch of Pisidia, continue to Antalya over the Taurus Mountains. (B, L, D)

Day 8: Walk on the mosaic floors of the Roman city of Perge, where Paul gave his first sermon during his first journey with Barnabas. Continue to Aspendos, one of the best preserved Roman theaters of the world and in the afternoon take a relaxing walk in the Old City of Antalya. Overnight in Antalya. (B, L, D)

Day 9: Drive to Pamukkale visiting Laodicea en route. Also explore the Roman city of Hierapolis, where the Apostle Philip was martyred and see the world famous calcium carbonated terraces of Pamukkale and the sacred pool. Overnight in Pamukkale. (B, L, D)
